Is mileage always unlimited, if not, when isn't it?
In
most cases your rental will include unlimited mileage, however with
some speciality/prestige vehicles and rentals in remote locations in
Australia or Canada there will be a limit to the kilometres above and
beyond, for which a charge will be levied. The mileage policy will be
clearly shown at the time of booking and on your documentation.
What do I need to collect my vehicle from the rental agent?
Upon collection of your vehicle the lead driver must produce their rental voucher, a valid credit card and their drivers' licence. If you're renting abroad you will also require your' passport. Certain vehicle partners in the U.K may also require two additional forms of identification i.e. two utility bills. Please note that all additional drivers must produce their driving licence.
Driving Licence: If you have a new licence, it is imperative that all licensing papers are presented. In the case that some papers are missing the supplier may refuse the rental.
Please explain what a voucher is and why I need one?
Your vehicle rental voucher is a document, which the supplier of your rental vehicle requires as proof of the previously agreed rate. It is imperative that you have it in you possession. If you do not produce your voucher at the time of collection the vehicle rental partner may ask you to pay more or refuse you your' rental. If you do not produce your' voucher details at the rental counter we cannot accept any appeal for a refund.
What is an international drivers licence and do I need one?
The International Driving Licence (IDL) is recognised worldwide as a valuable document that identifies its holder as a licensed driver when your licence is not in the same language as the country in which you are driving. You must also produce a National Driver's Licence (i.e. Your South African or local license) with this licence; otherwise it will not be accepted.
What are age restrictions?
Age restrictions are set by the rental companies. This means that for insurance purposes the rental company may have a limit on the minimum or maximum age of the driver they can rent to. All age restrictions will be in the terms and conditions of each rental. Some companies also have a young or seniors driver's fee for specific age groups.
What will I need to pay for locally?
You will need to pay the balance of rental per your voucher and any additional extras. The customer must have sufficient funds available to cover any required deposit. If a credit card can not cover the deposit, the vehicle may not be released, please note that in this case no refund will be given.
Can I use a different credit card when I arrive to the rental location?
Yes you can, as long as the credit card is in the name of the driver of the vehicle. This is for insurance purposes.
Can cash or a debit card be used as a deposit?
Sorry, none of our rental partners accept cash deposits.
How do I reduce the excess on the vehicle? Can I take out additional insurances to reduce it?
You can purchase additional insurances to reduce the excess on the vehicle. This can be done at the rental office on arrival. If you choose not to purchase additional insurances a pre-authorisation is required. This pre- authorisation is taken from your credit card. Please see your terms & conditions for further details.
I would like to rent a car but am unsure of the collision waiver, I do not want an excess.

How do I amend or change a booking to change the pick up or drop off times and dates?
Please logon on to http://www.cartrawler.com/support.asp click on car hire queries, Enter your Reference number and email address and submit a ticket with the amended times and dates and we will change them for you.
Do I lose my deposit if I cancel my car?
No, you do not lose your deposit once the car is cancelled within 24hrs of pick up.
How do I cancel my booking?
To cancel a reservation please call us, making sure you have your reservation ID to hand which was sent to you on the confirmation email.

What is an out of hours fee?
If the supplier decides to open a location outside of it's regular hours to provide a vehicle for you, then they will usually charge a fee for doing this - this is called an "out of hours". This fee covers the cost of staffing the location and is payable locally when collecting the vehicle.
I have booked a baby or booster seat for my child where can I see this is confirmed for my booking?
Once the vehicle is confirmed please check your booking voucher. The voucher has a section which shows the additional extras you have booked including baby seats, booster seats or additional drivers. These extras are not included in the price quoted; they must be paid for on arrival.
If I book a child seat will this definitely be provided?
Child seats are mandatory in most countries and must be requested at the time of booking. Although instructions will be provided you will be required to fit the child seat yourself. For older children, it is recommended that you take your own booster seats. All child seats are on a request basis only. If requested and confirmed by the supplier at least 7 days prior to departure these will be guaranteed.
Booking a Car through Cape Spirit
The relationship between the renter and Cape Spirit Travel is for reserving the car at the requested destination and rental supplier. Cape Spirit's responsibility is limited to issuing the reservation voucher properly, in order to make a connection between the renter and the rental supplier at the competitive quoted rate. Should the renter not receive the booking voucher within 5 minutes after making the reservation, the renter has to contact Cape Spirit immediately. Cape Spirit will assist the renter with any booking enquiries during and after the reservation.
Upon collection of the car, the renter will sign a new contract with the rental supplier. Cape Spirit Travel will do its utmost to assist and provide a solution in case of any problem the renter encounters with the rental supplier.
Any claim against the rental supplier should be forwarded to the rental supplier directly. The jurisdiction location for claims against the rental supplier will be the country where the rental took place.
The rental supplier has the right to deny a car from anyone who does not comply with the above terms and conditions.
The renter should request a copy of the final rental agreement when returning the car, and keep it for future queries.
Accepting the voucher and applying it states your agreement to the above terms and conditions.
